Accessibility
Our commitment
Tabs Labs LLC is committed to making tabs.co accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We design and operate this site to substantially conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We treat accessibility as an ongoing engineering responsibility, not a one-time project.
What we do
- Automated and manual testing. We run automated accessibility tests (axe-core, Lighthouse) on our key pages and periodically engage independent accessibility consultants to perform manual audits using assistive technology including screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver) and keyboard-only navigation.
- Continuous remediation. When we identify a barrier, we add it to our internal remediation log and prioritize it. We aim to resolve substantial accessibility issues within 90 days of discovery.
- Vendor accountability. Some sections of our site (such as Shopify Checkout, embedded reviews, and our cart drawer) are provided by third parties. We work with those vendors to ensure their components meet WCAG 2.1 AA and we substitute or remove vendors who do not.
Known limitations
Some content on tabs.co may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA. As of the date above, known issues being remediated include items related to embedded video review captions, certain low-contrast text within third-party widgets, and content rendered by our page-builder tool. These are actively being addressed.
We do not use accessibility-overlay widgets that auto-modify the page for visitors. The Department of Justice has stated that such overlays do not satisfy ADA Title III, and we agree.
